What We Do

Shelter

KWCWC’s one-stop facility is a lifeline for GBV survivors, bridging critical care gaps that previously existed. Survivors now find solace under one roof, where they can access holistic care: trauma-informed therapy for emotional healing, medical care for physical injuries, legal aid for pursuing justice, and safe refuge for protection from harm.
Empowerment is central to the recovery process. Survivors gain essential skills for economic independence, while psychosocial support fosters resilience. Community support groups reduce loneliness, offering strength and understanding.

For those facing persistent threats or unstable housing, the shelter provides immediate safety and necessary assistance, addressing significant gaps in care. The impact extends beyond individual healing: empowered survivors rebuild their lives, lowering their susceptibility and encouraging others to report abuse. Community awareness programs challenge harmful norms, preventing future incidents.
KWCWC is committed to expanding its reach, serving more survivors through increased capacity and partnerships, and advocating for policy reforms to strengthen survivor protection. Through this model, KWCWC offers hope and a future free from GBV, one survivor at a time.
