KWCWC

What We Do

Research Capacity

KWCWC committed to advancing education, training, and research across multiple sectors, benefiting regional universities, hospitals, counseling centers, government agencies, and police forces. These programs are designed to enhance the skills of Kenyan medical and judicial professionals, as well as health educators, by providing the latest healthcare data.
The Research and Data Centre will serve as a hub for collecting and disseminating current information to inform programming and policy. With a focus on supporting the Africa region, the Centre will longitudinally collect, analyze, and share data on Gender-Based Violence (GBV). It aims to be a central source for up-to-date GBV information, while also generating new data for innovative practices. KWCWC will collaborate with local and international academic institutions to ensure the information is reliable and actionable.

The Research Centre is equipped to conduct both wet and dry research, supporting a wide range of studies and publications. It focuses on training and staffing research labs, while offering programs to increase qualified professionals in various fields. These include burn research and physician training, universal precautions training for teachers and communities, clinician programs, nurse and midwife certifications, biomedical engineering, forensic science certifications, and counselor training. The Centre also supports research in areas like agriculture, alternative energy, and infectious diseases. This expanded capacity aims to equip professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to make a meaningful impact in their respective fields.
