On 7th March 2025, the Kenya Women and Children Wellness Centre (KWCWC) hosted a remarkable
International Women’s Day celebration at the Jordan Family Convention Centre. The event honored the
resilience and strength of women while marking the official launch of the Talime Medical Centre under the theme: “Accelerate Action: Empowering Women,
Breaking the Silence on GBV”.
The celebration brought together distinguished guests and community leaders in a powerful show of support for women’s empowerment and health access for all individuals.


The key note addresses were from Valerie Bouninfante, Acting Regional Officer, Italian Agency for
Development Cooperation who emphasized need for multi-agency partnerships in combating GBV and the Principal Secretary Mr Harry Kimtai in a speech delivered by Dr Rebecca Kiptui. He underscored the
government’s commitment to a whole-of-society approach to GBV and commended KWCWC for not just responding to GBV but engaging a holistic approach to combatting GBV, enabling women and girls to become self-sufficient and thrive. The program showcased an inspiring lineup of performances that supported the empowerment of young people. Celestine Gachuhi and her team delivered powerful acts, while students from Nairobi International School brought energy and creativity with their dance performances. These impactful presentations stirred deep reflection and hope among attendees, creating a vibrant space for young people to express themselves and share their voices.
Their inspiring speeches and presence underscored the importance of holistic wellness and the
transformative role that Kwcwc Talime Medical Centre will play in the community.This launch was more than just the opening of a facility it is the beginning of a lasting commitment to uplift, heal, and empower families across the region.We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who joined us in making this celebration so meaningful.
