Empowering Law Enforcers: KWCWC’s Training on Gender-Based Violence Response

Yesterday was a monumental day for the Kenya Women and Children’s Wellness Centre (KWCWC) as we successfully trained 1,500 law enforcers at the Kiganjo Police Training Institute on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) response. This training is a significant step forward in our ongoing efforts to combat GBV and ensure a safer environment for everyone.

The Importance of GBV Response Training

Gender-Based Violence remains a pervasive issue worldwide, affecting individuals regardless of age, gender, or socioeconomic status. In Kenya, the statistics are particularly alarming, with numerous cases of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other forms of GBV reported daily. Law enforcers play a critical role in responding to these incidents, and their ability to effectively address and manage GBV cases can make a significant difference in the lives of survivors.
